Analyst/ Sr. Analyst (Environment)

Job Purpose: Lead and manage the operations of the Environment lab at Thane, work collaboratively across the Organization to ensure Section’s and Organization’s objectives are achieved in efficient manner.

Job description & responsibilities:

1. Plan and establish work schedules for environment lab team and ensure the testing of samples are completed within stipulated Turn-Around-Time (TAT).

2. To perform the analysis as per allotted job and as per prescribed method, within stipulated TAT.

3. To ensure that the results of tested samples are validated on time in the sample management software to meet the expected TAT.

4. To supervise the analysis carried out by team members, review and cross check the raw data written by analysts and to check, validate and sign the final test report of each sample.

5. To guide the team members when they face any difficulty in testing.

6. To plan and manage research activities, validate methods whenever required, so as to increase the scope of testing of the laboratory.

7. To maintain functionality of departmental equipment and maintain inventories of reagents; assumes responsibilities for the maintenance of supplies, reagents and equipment. To check and maintain sufficient resources eg, availability of chemicals, glass wares etc. and maintain its records. Coordinate with procurement team and maintain data on the resources, chemical, glassware etc., required for smooth functioning of the lab.

8. Review, maintain and update relevant quality and technical documents as per the requirements of QMS and regulatory bodies. To maintain all the relevant records, documents and undertake its timely updates.

9. To prepare SOPs, standards, specifications and relevant methods and its timely updates whenever required.

10. Follow the 5S principals to keep the laboratory in an orderly manner.

11. To represent the lab for audits/assessments by regulatory authorities, Governing bodies, customers’ and third party audits, internal audits in capacity of technical manager and/or deputy quality manager. Close the non-conformance observed, and report to Quality Manager.

12. To identify the training needs of lab personnel and to ensure that the required training is conducted and personnel are authorized and evaluated for tasks as per planned activities. To plan trainings wrt awareness and maintenance of quality management system for all the personnel, to the necessary extent and maintain relevant records, for the same.

13. To evaluate the competency of all testing personnel including, awareness of different accreditations and standards, and ensure that the staff maintain their competency to perform test procedures and report test results. Also prepare the training plan and ensure timely updation.

14. To undertake the in house calibration checks, performance checks, intermediate checks for equipment/ instruments along with handling troubleshooting such as breakdown, service/maintenance and maintain the relevant records.

15. To plan the annual calibration schedule of equipment/ instruments of environment lab and work with procurement team for execution of calibration activity. To verify and maintain the Certificates of calibrations for all equipment/instruments.

16. Coordinate with Sales Executives and Quality team to resolve customer queries, complaints and document the RCA CAPA for the customer complaints

17. To undertake appropriate sample storage, retention & proper discard of samples, chemicals & other wastes etc.

18. To maintain reference materials and standards and record the preparation of intermediate stocks, working stocks etc.

19. Promote effective intradepartmental relationships within the lab

20. To give monthly feedback to the immediate supervisor for overall working of the section, progress, any specific requirements & non-conformances

21. To present the monthly and/or quarterly reviews on the lab’s TAT, Personnel, Complaints, customer audits, visits, NCs, PT participation/results, new developments etc. to Management.

22. To evaluate the performance of lab team members ie. KPI on monthly basis on various parameters to Lab Manager.
