Job Purpose: Carry out testing of samples as per committed TAT and manage the operations of the Instrumentation lab at Thane. To work collaboratively across the Organization to ensure Section’s and Organization’s objectives are achieved in efficient manner.
Job Description:
- To perform the analysis as per allotted job and as per prescribed method, within stipulated TAT.
- To ensure that the results of tested samples are validated on time in the sample management software to meet the expected TAT.
- To supervise the analysis carried out by team members, review and cross check the raw data written by analysts and to check, validate and sign the job sheets of each sample.
- To guide the team members when they face any difficulty in testing and resolve their queries
- To assist the Asst. manager Instrumentation / section head, in planning and conducting research activities, validate methods whenever required, so as to increase the scope of testing of the laboratory.
- To maintain functionality of departmental equipment and maintain inventories of reagents; assumes responsibilities for the maintenance of supplies, reagents and equipment. To check and maintain sufficient resources e.g. availability of chemicals, glass wares etc. and maintain its records. Coordinate with procurement team and maintain data on the resources, chemical, glassware etc., required for smooth functioning of the lab.
- To maintain and update relevant quality and technical documents as per the requirements of QMS and regulatory bodies. To maintain all the relevant records, documents and undertake its timely updates.
- To prepare SOPs, standards, specifications and relevant methods and its timely updates whenever required.
- Follow the 5S principals to keep the laboratory in an orderly manner.
- To represent the lab for audits/assessments by regulatory authorities, Governing bodies, customers’ and third party audits, internal audits in capacity of technical manager and/or deputy quality manager. Close the non-conformance observed, and report to Asst. Manager Instrumentation / section head and Quality team.
- To identify the training needs of lab personnel and to train the team members when required. To evaluate their performance after the training is imparted as per planned activities.
- To support the Asst. Manager Instrumentation / Section head, in evaluating the competency of all testing personnel including, awareness of different accreditations and standards, and ensure that the staff maintain their competency to perform test procedures and report test results. Also prepare the training plan and ensure timely updation.
- To undertake the in house calibration checks, performance checks, intermediate checks for equipment/ instruments along with handling troubleshooting such as breakdown, service/ maintenance and maintain the relevant records.
- To attend to the service engineers of instruments and ensure that the annual preventive maintenance or other in house maintenance work is carried out as per the annual schedule.
- To maintain reference materials and standards and record the preparation of intermediate stocks, working stocks etc. To update the CRM list and ensure that the expired and exhausted standards are ordered well before time.
- To assist the Asst. Manager Instrumentation / section head, in presenting the section’s performance on monthly basis for overall working of the section, progress, any specific requirements & non-conformances and status of their closures
